![]() ![]() This works all fine and well but I have yet to find an actual solution for making the "spotlight" itself. I set the color to black, the opacity to around 50% - 60%, and I fill the entire scene with a rectangle using this color. Thus far, I have been able to simulate the darkness by using the scene's drawing event. The idea is to make the whole scene dark and have a light surround the player (in a layer mask type fashion). Hello all! This is my first post to the Stencyl forumsīut anyway, I am attempting to create a "dark" atmosphere in an upcoming game and I'm running in circles trying to implement it. This command returns the message "Invalid or corrupt jarfile sw.jar" I can easily just click "Remind me later", but I would like to know if there is a solution so that I can have Stencyl updated and work properly. Program will exit.Īnyone know what could be the problem? Is this just a broken build? When I replace sw.jar with the original from the website, it runs fine (other than a strange solid white artifact where the "loading" box pops up), but still asks me if I wish to update. After updating, it restarts and then the program no longer works.Īfter attempting to change the Stencyl.sh to point to openjdk 7, I then went into the shell and decided to run sw.jar and then I received these java sw.jarĮxception in thread "main" : sw/jarĬaused by: : sw.jarĪt $1.run(URLClassLoader.java:217)Īt (Native Method)Īt (URLClassLoader.java:205)Īt (ClassLoader.java:321)Īt $AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:294)Īt (ClassLoader.java:266)Ĭould not find the main class: sw.jar. However, upon startup it asks me if I want to update to 2.2.0. After switching it to openjdk 6, it finally worked. ![]() Finally, I discovered the script Stencyl.sh was pointing to a prepackaged jre that wasn't working. I downloaded the latest release from the Stencyl website and could not get it work. I've just recently switched to Ubuntu 12.04 (64-bit machine) and have been attempting to get Stencyl to work. If anyone could help with this problem, I would be most grateful.Īlso, the code I'm using and the build.xml all come straight from the Stencyl webpage on extension development. I've tried to use the install extension option from the Settings->Extensions window. ![]() I'm not sure if this is a problem with Stencyl or not, but I am not able to test the extension whatsoever. In this case, maybe I am simply mistaken. Unless, of course, they're not supposed to visibly cause any changes or show up under the "Extensions" label on the left. I also tried to test any of the other extensions which came with Stencyl and none of them work once enabled. The problem I'm encountering right now is that the SampleExtension does not show up anywhere inside of Stencyl. Everything works fine and the JAR was produced just fine and placed correctly into the Stencyl extensions folder (my version of Stencyl being the most recent one, 3.0, as of yesterday's download). After messing around for quite some time with JDK's and JRE's and version conflicts, I was finally able to have the ANT build work correctly. Being somewhat familiar with Java, I decided to venture into extension development. ![]()
